General Information: Shelter has 22% Euth Rate. The Cleveland Kennel is a division of Public safety and picks up stray dogs in the city of Cleveland. These dogs are held for at least 3 days for the owners to reclaim them. If the owners don't come back for them adoptable dogs are then transferred to either the Cleveland APL or Cuyahoga County Kennel for adoption. However, there are still many great dogs that for one reason or another we can not transfer, these are the dogs you will see on their Facebook page.

Other Information: Very rural pound. This is a CAGE ONLY shelter. No Kennels, No Exercise areas. Dogs are in their CAGES 24/7 UNTIL RESCUED OR EUTHANIZED. Their open hours are very minimal, so chance of getting adopted are very slim.

Adoption/Rescue: With rare exception we do not respond to inquiries from out of state or rescues. An adopter needs to come in person to visit with the dog, sign the adoption papers and then come back for him/her after being fully vetted and spayed or neutered.

General Information: The Wyandot County Humane Society (WCHS) is the only shelter of its kind in the Northwest/North central Ohio region. The shelter has up to 200 animals at any one time and usually has about 120 available for placement. Unfortunately, as room for more animals is needed, hard decisions must be made and animals must be euthanised. The choice is made by the people working with the animals every day and is based on factors such as adoptability, current health, age, behavior, etc.
