Update 12/17 TUGGLES IS STILL WAITING FOR A HOME!!!

Tuggles is a Bassett mix who is 2 years old and is our longest resident. He loves to be around people and knows some basic commands. He is about 35 pounds and has been neutered, vaccinated and heart worm tested. He is an affectionate boy who really needs a home of his own. For more information, please contact us via e mail.

You know, I wonder sometimes how the same dog gets over looked at the shelter time and time again.  Especially when the dog isn't black or a large breed.  I wonder what the dogs must feel to remember the family and soft bed they once had but has only known confinement, concrete and chain link for so long now.  Truth is I've seen dogs change in these confined environments.  After a while they aren't as adoptable because it changes their behavior.  It is really sad that the dog below, Tuggles, has only known a home for about 8 months out of his 2+ years of life.  It is sad that he will spend a second Christmas on concrete looking through chain link wondering when he will get to go home again.  Yeah, the volunteers at the shelter decorated his kennel with garland and gave him special toys last year but he has watched so many of his kennel neighbors have someone come and put out there arms and welcome them, a luxury he hasn't had since he was a puppy.  Please help us help Tuggles, spread the word.  If you have the heart and space in your home to give Tuggles a life of love, contact Mindy below.



Tuggles is a male Basset/Beagle mix around 2 years old.  He is a short dog who is about knee high.  He is up to date on shots and has been neutered.  He was adopted from LIFE House for Animals as a puppy but was returned an almost year later for reasons that weren't anything to do with Tuggles himself.  He has been living in a kennel for many months now after being in a home environment but he is so good that he still won't use the bathroom in his kennel.  Please consider giving this guy a forever home.

A blk/tan GSD that was being transported got loose in Lebanon at New Leash On Life's parking lot getting out of the vehicle. She has her collar and leash on... comes from a puppy mill breeder situation and is very unsocialized & scared. Not mean at all but very scared!!!!

EMERGENCY EMERGENCY - Lost Rescued Puppy -- Rockport, Missouri

Tuesday December 22nd a rescued puppy got away from transporter at Rockport, Missouri, in a cornfield by McDonald's at the Rockport interstate exit. The picture shows puppy (black/white, 10 weeks, female, just had surgery).

Puppy was to go to a no-kill rescue in Omaha, Nebraska. Please help. The weather will be getting very bad.

Lost Monday 12/14/09 in the Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge Park by Knoxville, TN. He looks like a corgi/german shepherd mix and wearing a red collar. 

Murphy is a Corgi/German Shepherd mix (our best guess). He has the Corgi body (short legs) with a German Shepherd head. He is medium build and his primary color is brown with black markings on his head. He was wearing a red collar.
Murphy is very friendly but can be a little standoffish with strangers. He is very much loved. His family is heartbroken and very worried.

LOST - neutered, male German Shorthaired Pointer, 9 years old, severely underweight 46# Wearing a collar with a leash attached. Has a wound on front foot and is on medication. Escaped from foster home in Danville, KY on Nov. 12. This is a Rescue Dog with GSP Care of Ohio Rescue and does not necessarily respond to his name yet. Very friendly.
