an inspirational two-hour multi-media presentation followed by a book signing
for Irreconcilable Differences. The
seminar has been called "a prerequisite for rescue groups and
organizations that are serious about changing their communities to No
Kill." Nathan Winograd is the founder of the No Kill Mission and has
helped transform many facilities and counties into No Kill.
The seminar is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Sales of books benefit Shelby County's No Kill mission.

Register now for our 1st Annual Spring Break Critter Camp 2010! This camp teaches kindness and compassion to animals of all kinds. Campers enjoy pet related arts and crafts, guest speakers, and interaction with the shelter animals. Each day has a different theme and teaches campers about the adoption process, at-home animal checkups, and what to do around a stray animal.
This Spring Break edition of Critter Camp is 5 days - Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2 - 9am to 12pm. Camp is $130 per child and there is space for 20 campers in the session. This May, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) will host its 16th annual
fundraising run/walk WAGGIN' TRAIL 5K. Join hundreds of animal lovers
to truly make a difference in the lives of needy animals.
The area's original walk for the animals will be held at Iroquois Park
on Saturday, May 22. The 5K timed run will begin at 9 a.m., with
registration opening at 8 a.m. The 5K fun walk will begin at 10:00
a.m., with registration begin at 9:00 a.m. The event will include family-friendly activities, behavior demos, contests, vendor booths, music, food and much more! Walkers, you can raise money for the animals and accumulate prizes as your collected pledges increase even before the event starts. At the WAGGIN' TRAIL 5K, take a leisurely walk through the park's beautiful scenery, knowing you helped hundreds of needy pets! And for the more competitive animal lovers, enjoy raising money for the animals by running in the 5K and competing to be the Fastest Male and Female Runners! Prizes will be awarded on the day of the event at our awards ceremony. Not ready to walk or run in the 5K? Don’t sweat it. Stay home and curl up in bed with your animals…and take a “cat nap.” Once you submit your collected pledges to the Kentucky Humane Society, you can pick up any prizes you accumulate at one of our locations!
